I can think of a different way:

1. Boot Knoppix
2. Mount the C drive under /mnt/hda6 or whatever
3. cd /mnt/hda6/directory
4. mv _vimoutlinerrc .vimoutlinerrc
5. remove knoppix CD
6. Reboot computer
