[Vimoutliner] Mapping the Windows key to Esc?

Even better is CapsLock.
The following lines in ~/.Xmodmap worked for me:

! treat Caps_Lock like Escape:
remove Lock = Caps_Lock
keysym Caps_Lock = Escape
