sorry for being late to the party, only now I start to catch up with
my email backlog after job changing.
I don't have anything against any default settings that can (I) be
tweaked afterwards, (ii) are well documented.
Specifically about foldcolumn, just wanted to mention I'm doing
something again the opposite way as most people then. :o
I had foldcolumn set to 2 for ages, even before vim7, so I haven't
notice any change in behaviour after upgrading from 6.3 to 6.4, and
then from 6.4 to 7.0...
I found foldcolumn set to 2 quite useful when manipulting indentation level.
(Moreover, I have :set number :o...)
Have a nice day,
Peter
